| A brief History...
In high school I took a class in Offset Printing which I took to very quickly. From there I continued in the printing business and ended up at Fullem Printing Company in Utica, NY after going to Mohawk Valley Community College for Advertising Design.
1989
I convinced the owner of Fullem Printing to buy a Mac Plus and Aldus PageMaker to do typesetting. We eventually added a scanner and printer to add to our capabilities. As software developed and my skills grew I started doing newsletters and bought Photoshop and Illustrator so I could do more kinds of design and image manipulation. It was during this time that I really started building the base of not only my design skills as well as my Macintosh troubleshooting background.
1997
At this time I was asked to join a consulting firm specializing in Macintosh training, troubleshooting and repair as well as needs assessment and sales. Our clients included advertising agencies, printing companies and schools as well as the individual user. Here I really built up my troubleshooting skills and developed close relationships with clients.
1998
I taught a class at Mohawk Valley Community College training people in the printing field the basics of QuarkXPress, Photoshop and Illustrator. The course was geared towards the type of issues the students would be facing in an electronic prepress position.
2002
After accepting a position Colgate University as a technician I was in a position where I could use all the skills I had developed over the last two decades. It also gave me experience in working with digital video expanding on my experience. Working in the Art & Art History Department has helped me to see art from a broader perspective which has given me more to draw from in my designs.
2004
Seeing a need I decided to officially start freelancing some design and consulting. With a full-time job I can be selective in what I do.
